This 1 day Emergency first Aid course, commonly know as the "Appointed Person" course is suitable for persons wishing to learn basic first aid which qualifies them as an "Emergency First-Aider" in the workplace.
The syllabus includes;
Personal Safety, assessing the incident.
Priorities; DRAB checks and sending for help.
Dealing with conscious and unconscious casualty.
Recovery Position.
Resuscitation – CPR for adults, Children and infants
Choking.
Dealing with blood loss and Shock
Amputations
Burns and scalds
Recognition and management of fractures
Heart conditions.
Diabetes and Asthma.
Crush Injuries (if applicable to group)
Anaphylactic Shock
The course is on a continual assessmet basis and candidates must attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment.
Certificates are valid for three years.
All equipment is provided and each candidate receives a first aid manual which may be used for reference purposes after the course.
